SHRIMANT CHHATRAPATI SHIVAJI MAHARAJ KI JAY......."
The very sound of these words makes our Heart pound with Patriotism, Pride, Respect, Devotion, Courage, and Righteousness and inspires us to achieve greatness in life. These words try to capture some of the qualities and greatness of the man, the legend, and the god for all Maharastrians – Shrimant Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Being born and brought-up in Maharashtra, it is practically impossible to miss his stories or to not-know him; But then, it is equally true that every time you hear the stories, you find something new about the great king.
It has been my desire for quite a few years now, that I should at least visit all the places where this great legend breathe a few hundred years ago – to see those places, to know more about them – more than what the books tell us, by actually visiting those places and to feel within me, the same cosmic energy and vibrations that inspired him to do legendary acts.
I had visited some of these places since childhood, but I wasn't blogging then:-)
With this blog, I can share my journey with all, keep a track of places visited and spread the admiration for the Legend that was Shivaji. This is a pilgrimage to follow life-and-times of Shrimant Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, by following and visiting the places he has been to.
This is my ShivteerthaTan – a pilgrimage for discovering Raja Shivaji.
